Real Weddings : Karly & Dan
If we had to summarize one of our favourite real weddings of Karly and Dan in one word, we would describe it as ‘perfect’
Karly and Dan first approached Ministry of DJs after being guests at the wedding of Chris and Naomi (of which we also had the pleasure of DJ’ing at).
This gave the couple an opportunity to see us in action and witness how we deliver our wedding entertainment live and up-close.
THE VENUE
The couple chose to celebrate their special day at the Emu Bottom Homestead in Sunbury Victoria. For anyone after a venue that has history, style, charm, plenty of beautiful natural outside space and within reasonable commute to Melbourne’s CBD (but still feels like you’re in the countryside) look no further than the Homestead.
Karly and Dan had their ceremony at the Homestead’s picturesque outdoor garden, whilst using this wide green natural space for canapés after the couple said their ‘I do’s’. Guests then migrated into the intimate dining hall where they were greeted to two long tables for everyone to wine, dine enjoy the festivities to come.
THE BRIEF
Karly and Dan’s taste in music was modern, fun, upbeat with plenty of party! DJ Ramon was assigned as the DJ to play at this event due to his extensive experience DJing at weddings with similar briefs.
Karly and Dan elected for some nice, cool upbeat day club vibes to be played for canapés, with more chill out (Cafe Del Mar) style beats for guests to enjoy their dinner to. DJ Ramon delivered just that and to that optimal level of sound for guests to be able to chat and enjoy their meals, with the nice backdrop of sound.
THE BRIDAL ENTRANCE
Karly and Dan walked out for the first time as husband and wife to the tune of ‘Be with you’ by RUFUS, and boy what an electric entrance it was! Guests were up standing and cheering with the atmosphere noticeably raised at the Homestead.
THE DANCEFLOOR
Karly and Dan (pictured above) took centre stage for their first dance as a married couple to a beautiful rendition of Tina Turner’s classic ’Simply the Best’ by Noah Reid.
First dance and formalities over, we were now ready to launch the dancefloor!
Our brief for the dancefloor music was house music, party tracks with a sprinkle of retro. DJ Ramon delivered just that with a perfect party atmosphere and guests dancing from start to finish. Ramon lit up the dancefloor with house classics, electro house classics and plenty of vocals for guests to reminisce about the clubbing days of old. Artists played on the night included Swedish House Mafia, Daft Punk, Moby, Armand Van Helden and Kings of Tomorrow just to name a few.
In between these house bombs Ramon added some flair by sprinkling some classics from the 80’s and 90’s such as Whitney Houston and ABBA into his set by to keep the crowd on their feet and energy levels high.
Final song of the night was the Killers’ classic Mr Brightside which always works a treat!
TUNE OF THE NIGHT
Bag Raiders’ smash it ’Shooting Star’. There were plenty of hands in the air moments when this song came on – the crowd absolutely loved in!
